When most people think about victims of cancer, a picture of someone in their latter years usually comes to mind. Unfortunately, there's a large segment of the afflicted population, younger folks, that gets overlooked. 15-40 Connection is an incredible organization that spreads awareness of those aged 15 to 40 years old that have been affected by this terrible disease.
Over this past year, I've been photographing fundraising efforts with them to help spread the word about early cancer detection. One such effort has been documenting this past racing season with the NASCAR Whelen Modified 15-40 Connection sponsored racing team of Rob Fuller Motorsports.
Rob's family have been in the racing business for over 40 years with a lot of success. He also ownes and runs Draco Racing, manufacturing and supplying racing springs to the NASCAR Sprint Cup community of drivers including Dale Earnhatdt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Brad Kaslowski, and on and on. To say that Rob is a busy man is quite an understatement but he goes out of his way to make early cancer detection and all that goes with spreading awareness a top priority.
Rob and his team were very accomodating in letting me into their world of racing to get up close and personal with all that goes on behind the scenes to get a race car to victory lane. I followed them in the pits, through track testing at Thompson Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway, as well as race coverage at both tracks and gained an immense appreciation for the amount of hard work that they put into this formidable car.

I'd like to thank all the survivors that came to Loudon for the portrait shoot as well as Rob and his crew for making this incredible shoot possible! It was a great opportunity to work with some of the bravest people I've ever met. Racing cars and fighting cancer; it doesn't get any better!!!
